A spoon full of creamed corn.

If you have been eating canned creamed corn all of these years, you have been missing out on some seriously good eats! We bring creamed corn to almost every get together. This side dish is so versatile, you can bring it to a summer BBQ or a holiday dinner! Everyone always loves the super sweet corn in such a rich, creamy sauce, and it always pairs well with everything. One word of caution for large family gatherings: a single batch of this may not be enough!

Corn Options for Creamiest Creamed Corn:

Frozen corn is so easy, and we are all about keeping things simple. You can also use corn on the cob, just cut it right off the cob. No need to cook it first. Canned corn isn’t preferred, but can be done in a pinch. Simply drain the canned corn first.

Heavy Cream Substitute:

If you are looking for a lighter variety of creamed corn, you can always substitute the heavy cream with half and half (half whole milk and half cream).

Topping Ideas:

We love this recipe as is, but you can always top it with crumbled bacon and chives.

Slow Cooker Instructions:

You will still need to follow step one of this recipe. Once that is complete, add your cooked flour and butter mixture, as well as the rest of the ingredients, into your slow cooker and stir to combine. Pop the lid on and cook on low for 4 hours.

Storage and Reheating Instructions:

Store this in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. You can reheat either in a saucepan on the stovetop over medium-low heat, or in the microwave in 30 second increments until warmed through.
